The 2010 Dodge Ram won the Drivers’ Choice Award from MotorWeek for the best pickup truck of 2010. This is the second year in a row that Dodge has taken home the award. Buyers like the Ram’s big-rig styling, and these are the concepts that reinforce a sense of durability and confidence.
The Ram has quite a bit to offer, practicality and a bold looking design was icing on the cake in grabbing this award again. The utility and performance of the Ram leaves little to the imagination of what Dodge could possibly improve upon.
The competition in the US marketplace for pickup trucks is fierce. Some suggest that it’s based on towing capacity, fuel efficiency, or price that wins us over. This award proves that people are interested in the complete package, and design is something you can’t put a figure next to.
Dodge has it all wrapped up with the Ram, there’s few things one could dislike on this truck. Whether you want one for regular duty or for extreme conditions like construction, the Ram is suitable for almost any environment.
MotorWeek’s Driver’s Choice award takes into account – vehicle cost, practicality, value, driving experience, technology, and superior performance. These combined produce the overall experience of a Dodge Ram. You can dive into the details when you’re shopping for a new truck or you can simply look at the big picture and see that this is a truck you’ll enjoy overall, for work and for fun.
On top of being the winner of the Driver’s Choice Award for best Pickup truck, Ram is also extending their reach into a commercial truck lineup of heavy duty, commercial grade work trucks, for construction applications or any type of work that may rely on this level of quality from Dodge.
This new commercial grade trucks will be the RAM 3500, 4500 to 5500 chassis cabs. If Dodge has done one thing right over the rest of the manufacturers, it would be the ability to keep the design and durability right there at the top of their priority list.

The Dodge Ram RamBox® is a unique storage area that provides a great place to store tools, golf clubs, or even to carry groceries home. Some Ram owners have even used the compartments for coolers making for a clever tailgating option.
Contractors can use the RamBox® to store their power tools so that they don’t get stolen on the job site, yet are still easily accessible. The access makes it easy to load and unload tools which contractors will be the first to tell you is a procedure that consumes considerable time.
In addition to making them easy to access, one could even consider this to be a safety feature by limiting the need to repeatedly climb in and out of the bed to access a typical pickup tool box that’s mounted behind the cab.
The RamBox® also benefits by giving the owner full use of the entire length of the bed. Most rail-to-rail tool boxes occupy a considerable portion of the bed sacrificing the overall length of materials that you can easily transport without hanging out the tailgate.
The Dodge RamBox® seems to take some of it’s characteristics and utility from the speciality truck bodies that have been used for Utility companies. The compartments with their fold open access makes it easy to store materials and tools but the appearance is not favorable to double as a personal pickup truck.
When considering this option many people think of the use in terms of recreational purpose as well as a utility type feature to make their daily working experience better and more efficient. Many people who don’t like the appearance of the canopy, but need the ability to lock up their tools will love this feature and may be the deciding factor in select a Dodge Ram over other trucks in this segment.
First-in-segment, unique “RamBox” provides weatherproof, illuminated, lockable storage compartments integrated into both fender sides for effortless access and convenience
RamBox is available on light-duty crew-size cab configurations
Total capacity for both bins combined is 7.4 cubic feet (or 240 cans of 12-once beverages)
Bins are large enough to hold a set of golf clubs and shoes, toolboxes, fishing gear, helmets or anything else needed for work or play
Each RamBox bin holds up to five cases (120 cans) of 12-ounce beverages
RamBox cargo management system also includes a bed divider/built-in 2-foot bed extender for oversized loads and rail system with sliding, adjustable cleats for infinitely adjustable tie-down capability
Cargo beds equipped with RamBox are 51.1 inches wide, allowing 4 x 8-ft. sheets of plywood to lie flat (with tailgate down)
Drain plugs in bins allow easy clean-out
The cost for the Rambox is available as an option for $1895 beginning on the 2010 Ram 1500 Crew SLT 4×2 with a starting MSRP of $31,920.
